When you browse the current inventory of homes, you’ll find everything from ranches to lakefront properties. And most of them will also get you to the office in around 25 minutes; an easy, short drive that’s a far cry from the long, congested commutes in metro areas.

Todd County Development Corporation (TCDC) is also prioritizing the creation of new housing at price points that work for the people of varying income levels.

This includes the 37-unit, 2nd Avenue Apartment complex in Long Prairie and workforce housing in Staples, Grey Eagle, and Eagle Bend. On any given day, we’re working behind the scenes to help our communities, employers and developers turn housing needs into housing opportunities. 

Finding Reliable Childcare Shouldn’t Be a Daily Scramble

For any working parent or caregiver, finding a good job is only half the battle; you’re also going to need quality, reliable childcare.

Here you’ll find 44 licensed child care centers/family providers in Todd County offering everything from in-home care to after school programs but we’re also looking at ways to increase capacity.

That’s why we’ve partnered with the Long Prairie Economic Development Authority and Todd County to look at innovative ways to add capacity.

💦 40+ lakes for fishing, boating, kayaking, and swimming, including Lake Osakis, Big Birch Lake and Dower Lake. From large, recreational lakes to small, quiet bodies of water, lake life isn’t just an Instagram post… it’s your everyday!

🚣 The Long Prairie River runs right through our region. It’s a 13 mile lazy float that winds through wooded shores, farm fields, and marshland with very little development along the banks. It's also a designated State Water Trail, offering endless hours of leisurely paddling, tubing, and bird watching.

🚲 The Lake Wobegon Trail runs 7.6 miles through Todd County and connects into a roughly 125-mile paved, off-road trail system. What a dreamy trek for biking, running, or a leisurely stroll without having to load up the car and drive to a distant recreation destination.

❄️ Winter is something to get out and enjoy in Todd County! Instead of hunkering down inside, it’s prime time to zoom along our 400 miles of groomed snowmobile trails maintained by the Todd Area Trail Association. A beautiful way to explore the landscape from a different POV!

🌳 An abundance of green space means plenty of opportunities for camping, swimming and enjoying nature trails, in addition to community rec facilities that offer year-round activities for the whole family.
